Disaster Contingency Provisions within UK Local Authorities
that have Downsized their Computer Facilities:
Summary of the Report
A total of 479 senior IT and user managers
from UK local authorities took part in an extensive survey on IT downsizing and both
business and disaster contingency planning
(BCP) /
(DCP).
The research consisted of an initial paper based questionnaire containing 100 questions.
Where appropriate, questionnares were followed-up to produce twelve in-depth case studies.
These case studies fall into two types, those involving
disaster prevention
and those involving
(BCP) /
(DCP).

The 114 page report contains an in-depth analysis of the questionnaire together with a detailed examination of the twelve
case studies.
The importance of these case studies is in the lessons that can be learnt from them.

A total of 54 important
lessons
were identified.
|
